I don't know you'd call these tips so much as they are
facts.
If there is not a pair showing on the table: there
cannot be a hand existing of a full house, nor four of a kind
If there is not at least 3 same suit cards showing on the
table; there cannot be a hand existing of a flush, straight flush, nor
Royal Flush.
at a table of ten players, the total amount of cards
in play at the end of the game will have been 25, almost exactly 50% of the deck.
There are
exactly 169 possible pairs of hands you could be dealt before the
flop
according to Hoyle, 65% of the winning hands are made
on the river (last card dealt face up on the table).
these are some helpful tips when playing low-stakes Texas two card hold'em poker
the most important
tip I can offer is that to win, you must stay in the game all
the way to the end. if you have paid to reach the last bet
of a hand; and you have anything at all, even a pair of 3s;
pay the extra $2 and stay in. I've seen players raise to the
hilt and never have a thing. *please note: that does not mean
stay in with a low pair from the start; what it means is if
you were trying to fill a straight or flush and find yourself at the
river (the last card turned over on the table), and
you've paid all the way up to that point anyway; if you
have anything at all that could win the round for you; a pair,
or even an ace with a nice kicker; then by all means pay the
extra few bucks it will cost to give yourself a chance at winning.
Do not follow this advice when playing no-limit games and the last
round of bets is a huge amount. But at a fixed table
game; I see no reason why you shouldn't pay the cost of the
last round of bets to give yourself a chance at winning. Play Online Poker
Don't let yourself be bullied by raises the tables
almost always have somebody that thinks the name of the game is to bet until you've scared
everybody off. If the raises are too much for you to handle: find a smaller
stakes game. (try golden tiger: the lowest tables stakes I've found online).
Always play your hand: not how others are betting (unless you know them
intimately); if you've got a chance at winning the hand .... stay in to the
end!
watch for teams, they do exist. usually of two
people, using a cell phone to communicate back and forth, and when one has a
winning hand the other will keep the raising alive.
This is my own perspective and you
may find it no help at all. But I always try to get a feel on the game. If winning hands have been
eye-poppers like full house or straights and flushes; expect you will need a similar
hand to win the next hand. and the opposite is true as well. If the last two hands
went to a pair of kings and a pair of jacks, you can figure that three of a kind
will likely be sufficient to win the coming hand.
